The problem with that specific telling of the story, however, is that the White House is now saying, quietly, that that is not what happened.

Thrush Ninja
Here's what she says about it:
Thrush Ninja! Daily Frog Spray is a non-toxic, non-necrotizing, non-staining formula recommended for daily use to prevent and treat thrush in horses' hooves (equine digital dermatitis).
Thrush Ninja! Concentrated Powder is designed for wet environments or more severe
cases of thrush.
Simply pick the hoof clean with a hoof pick, and spray liberally with Thrush Ninja! Daily Frog Spray. For best results, use Thrush Ninja! daily, even when there is no thrush present. Used regularly, Thrush Ninja! will promote a spectacularly healthy, wide open frog, and prevent the frog from becoming eaten away by manure accumulated in the collateral grooves and central sulcus. For severe cases of thrush, Thrush Ninja! can also be used as a soak.

Watch for Me on the Mountain
Watch for me on the mountain
Hear me in the sacred wind
In the rain, feel my tears
In the flashflood, my anger
My land is gone
My family is gone
My world is gone.
All that remains is revenge.
Every breath is bitter
Every dream, anguish
Every memory, torment
There is no future in this world.
Watch for me on the mountain
Hear me in the sacred wind
In the rain, feel my tears
In the flashflood, my anger

Brandy
When we first met, she was wild and unbroken, had been on her own long enough to belong to herself and to no man. Her instincts were fresh and she was rightly suspicious of any two-legged who wanted to do her a "favor."
And I was so fumblingly stunned by her beauty, that I tried hard to show her that I too longed to be free.
Perhaps, if we hadn’t run out of time, we might have come to see ourselves in each other, might have learned to trust each other.
But time ran out.
She’s no longer wild as she once was.
Now she knows that her fate lies in someone else’s hands.
Now she must depend on another for food, for water, for fresh air, for permission to dance.
Now she knows she must accept the demands of man.
Once the world belonged to her.
Now she belongs to the world.
A world in which there is no place for freedom.
I stood with her awhile last night.
I offered her my hand and she sampled my scent.
As if she were my first lover, I slowly explored her, going slowly, waiting for her clear permission to continue.
With weightless fingers I searched for her sweet spots, found that she enjoyed being scratched on her chest, rubbed in the hollow above her eye, stroked firmly along her neck, and I did things for her until her eyes were dreamy, her lower lip hanging softly down and relaxed.
Withdrawing from her, I settled into a corner, gazed out.
Waited.
After a time, her soft muzzle nudged my hand as she memorized my scent, then brushed by ear, nickering ever-so quietly.
I wondered if she could sense what a sweet privilege it is for me to be close to her.
To feel her whiskers tickle the skin of my cheek.
Her warm breath on my neck bringing on goose-bumps.
The bottomless beauty of her sin-dark eyes, making my own eyes well up.
And so we stood together awhile longer, side-by-side, as if arm-in-arm.
Two resigned souls on the wrong side of a long lost battle.

Reality Check
How do I know what I think I know?
That's an important question.
You should ask yourself that frequently.
Very frequently.
I've done some film-making.
And I've dabbled in "magic."
Did you know that one of the pioneer film-makers was a magician?
It's all about creating and "illusian."
Just like politics.
Next time you're shown visual "evidence" of some government claim,
remember that last block-buster sci-fi flick you saw.
And remember
You can't always believe you eyes.
Don't let your reality check bounce.

The Bottom Line
CREATING THE BIN LADEN REALITY
by
Paul Craig Roberts
I have heard one dozen times today (May 13) from media that the US killed Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan.
I heard it three times from National Public Radio, twice from the BBC, and from every TV and radio station I encountered, even those stations that play the rock and roll music of the 1950s and 1960s. The killing of bin Laden has now entered the legends of our time and, no doubt, the history books.
The US government that told us that Saddam Hussein had "weapons of mass destruction" and "al Qaeda connections" and that Iran has nuclear missiles that require the US to ring Russia with anti-ballistic missile systems, finally told us the truth for once.
Obama found Osama and had him murdered, apparently unarmed in his underwear, defended not by al Qaeda, "the best trained, most dangerous vicious killers on the planet," but by two unarmed women.
As I offered previously, if you believe this, I have a bridge in Brooklyn that I can let you have for a cheap price.
The government has created another reality for us proles. We won again. Us white hats got the black hat, just like in the western movie. Fantasy is better than fact, and us good guys are on a roll. It makes everybody happy, even those who have lost their jobs, their houses, their pensions.
So, who's the next black hat? The military/security complex cannot do without a bad guy, or the budget could be cut and billions of dollars in profits would go missing. Without someone for Americans to hate, the show can't go on.
Homeland Security says the next black hat will be "domestic extremists." The CIA says it will be the next al Qaeda leader, bin Laden's replacement, who will terrorize us white hats for killing bin Laden. The neocon brownshirts say it is Pakistan, who hid bin Laden from us, thus protecting him from justice being done. Hillary says it is China, and as the US economy continues its collapse, more and more fingers will point at China.
Airport Security will pat down more babies, feel more genitals, and radiate more air travelers.
But without bin Laden, we will feel safer and more secure, which is counter-productive for the military/security complex. Obama has made a fundamental mistake. He has killed Emanuel Goldstein (bin Laden), the hate figure who justified the trillions of dollars we have blown trying to get him.
Once Homeland Security, the CIA, and the White House decide who the new hate figure is to be, we will be off and running again.
It took 10 years to get bin Laden. This proves that all those security experts who say that the war will last for 30 years might be underestimating the necessary commitment. If it takes 10 years each to find and murder the next two leaders, we are faced with conflict that lasts across generations.
As I wrote previously, bin Laden's killing serves so many different agendas that even those who don't believe the story have hooked their wagon to it. Al Qaeda itself can no longer take credit for acts of terrorism without declaring that it was to avenge bin Laden.
The bin Laden story is now set in stone, immune from fact. Global Research has provided us with bin Laden's last known interview, which appeared in a Pakistan newspaper on September 28, 2001, and was translated and made available to the West by the BBC World Monitoring Service on September 29, 2001.
In the interview, bin Laden says:
"I have already said that I am not involved in the 11 September attacks in the United States. . . . Whoever committed the act of 11 September are not the friends of the American people. I have already said that we are against the American system, not against its people, whereas in these attacks the common American people have been killed. . . . The Western media is unleashing such a baseless propaganda, which makes us surprised, but it reflects on what is in their hearts and gradually they themselves become captive of this propaganda. . . . Terror is the most dreaded weapon in the modern age and the Western media is mercilessly using it against its own people."
But who would believe a demonized bin Laden, when to do so requires them to disbelieve George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, and the Western media?
We all know, don't we, that in America the government always has the best interests of ordinary people at heart and always tells them the truth. If you don't believe this, you are anti-American.

One Tough Mother
Julia Ward Howe, Boston, 1870
Mother's Day was started after the Civil War, as an anti-war protest, by women who had lost their sons in that bloodbath.
This is the original proclamation.
And it's still the news.
sj
whether our baptism be that of water or of fears!
Say firmly: "We will not have great questions decided by
irrelevant agencies. Our husbands shall not come to us, reeking
with carnage, for caresses and applause. Our sons shall not be
taken from us to unlearn all that we have been able to teach
them of charity, mercy and patience.
We women of one country will be too tender of those of another
country to allow our sons to be trained to injure theirs. From
the bosom of the devastated earth a voice goes up with our own.
It says "Disarm, Disarm! The sword of murder is not the balance
of justice."
Blood does not wipe our dishonor nor violence indicate possession.
As men have often forsaken the plow and the anvil at the summons
of war, let women now leave all that may be left of home for a
great and earnest day of counsel. Let them meet first, as women,
to bewail and commemorate the dead.
Let them then solemnly take counsel with each other as to the
means whereby the great human family can live in peace, each
bearing after their own time the sacred impress, not of Caesar,
but of God.
In the name of womanhood and of humanity, I earnestly ask that a
general congress of women without limit of nationality may be
appointed and held at some place deemed most convenient and at
the earliest period consistent with its objects, to promote the
alliance of the different nationalities, the amicable settlement
of international questions, the great and general interests of
peace.

What if.....?
This event was the pretext for war abroad and oppression at home.
What if it was a lie?
What if high-ranking members of the United States government were complicit in the murders of nearly 3000 Americans?
What if they used that hoax to goad the American people into supporting the "war on terror" that has killed millions of innocent people in Iraq and Afghanistan and elsewhere?
What if it was all about the money?
What if you found out?
What would you do?

Dramatic Osama Death Details May Be Bogus
Officials now say Bin Laden wasn’t armed, did not use wife as shield.
By Josh Voorhees | Posted Tuesday, May. 3, 2011, at 11:44 AM EDTWhite House counterterrorism chief John Brennan painted a stunning picture Monday of Osama Bin Laden’s final moments alive: the al-Qaida leader was armed and possibly firing at oncoming U.S. forces while using his own wife as a human shield.
Those key details are among those that have been quietly refuted by administration officials who are speaking to the press off-camera.
Politico reports that during an untelevised background briefing for television reporters Monday afternoon, a senior White House official said that Bin Laden was not armed when he was shot dead by the Navy SEAL assault team. A second unidentified official later confirmed the change to the White House’s account.
Another unidentified official, likewise, walked back public comments from Brennan that suggested Bin Laden used his wife as a shield. In fact, it now appears that Bin Laden’s wife wasn’t the woman killed during the raid at all, and instead was only injured during the firefight.
“Two women were shot here. It sounds like their fates were mixed up,” the (also unidentified) official told Politico. “This is hours old and the full facts are still being ascertained as those involved are debriefed.”
Part of the problem appears to be how the White House is disseminating the highly-sought after details of the operation that killed its top terrorist target.
President Obama provided only a rough sketch of exactly what happened during his televised speech to the nation Sunday night, leaving it to a host of White House and military officials to color in the gaps, most of whom are speaking to reporters only “on background,” meaning they cannot be identified by name or specific position within the administration.
Further complicating matters is that Brennan, one of the few men who has been given permission by the White House to speak publicly about the details, is the one who has advanced many of statements that have been refuted behind the scenes.
From Monday’s press briefing: (emphasis added)
Q: You said that Osama bin Laden was actually involved in the firefight, and we had -- it has been reported that he reached for a weapon. Did he get his hand on a gun and did he fire himself?
BRENNAN: He was engaged in a firefight with those that entered the area of the house he was in. And whether or not he got off any rounds, I quite frankly don’t know.
Somewhere (and by that we mean just across the newsroom) Slate's Jack Shafer is saying "I told you so."

Don't be a Sap
YEARS OF DECEIT:
US OPENLY ACCEPTS BIN LADEN LONG DEAD
Gordon Duff December 5, 2009
Conservative commentator, former Marine Colonel Bob Pappas has been saying for years that bin Laden died at Tora Bora and that Senator Kerry’s claim that bin Laden escaped with Bush help was a lie. Now we know that Pappas was correct. The embarrassment of having Secretary of State Clinton talk about bin Laden in Pakistan was horrific. He has been dead since December 13, 2001 and now, finally, everyone, Obama, McChrystal, Cheney, everyone who isn’t nuts is finally saying what they have known for years….
…America knew Osama bin Laden died December 13, 2001. After that, his use was hardly one to unite America but rather one to divide, scam and play games. With bin Laden gone, we could have started legitimate nation building in Afghanistan instead of the eternal insurgency that we invented ourselves…..
For years, we attacked the government of Pakistan for not hunting down someone everyone knew was dead. Bin Laden’s death hit the newspapers in Pakistan on December 15, 2001. How do you think our ally felt when they were continually berated for failing to hunt down and turn over someone who didn’t exist?
What kind of man was Osama bin Laden? This one time American ally against Russia, son of a wealthy Saudi family, went to Afghanistan to help them fight for their freedom. America saw him as a great hero then. Transcripts of the real bin Laden show him to be much more moderate than we claim, angry at Israel and the US government but showing no anger toward Americans and never making the kind of threats claimed. All of this is public record for any with the will to learn….
We know this: Bin Laden always denied any ties to 9/11 and, in fact, has never been charged in relation to 9/11. He not only denied involvement, but had done so, while alive, 4 times and had vigorously condemned those who were involved in the attack…
This is on the public record, public in every free country except ours. We, instead, showed films made by paid actors, made up to look somewhat similar to bin Laden, actors who contradicted bin Laden's very public statements, actors pretending to be bin Laden long after bin Laden’s death…
