Twelve The Hard Way

Twelve degrees, that is.
Looking at sharp cold and biting winds for the next few days.
Glad my pony has a good run-in shelter and some pals to stand next to.
Funny, I worry about the cold, but horses handle the cold pretty well, as long as they have plenty of hay and can get out of the wind.
I guess I'm the one who doesn't handle it so well.

Hay, friends and a good shelter, what more can hope a horse ?
If we had to travel back in the time and live in poor huts without fire, I suppose we would not live long.

I guess I'm learning that I can get used to anything. Last night, as I gave the horses their extra hay at 9 pm, I actually thought it seemed pretty nice to be outside even though the temp was 10 degrees. Thank god for long johns!

Sometimes if you're warm on the inside, you don't mind being cold on the outside.

But long johns are good, too.
