If it LOOKS like a controlled demolition...

... and it walks like a controlled demolition, and it quacks like a controlled demolition,

IT'S A CONTROLLED DEMOLITION!

Why the Police-state Overkill Tactics?

Why tasers? Why the TSA groping?
Why the silly war on kids' lemonade stands?
Why the phone taps, the email surveillance?
Why all the unjustifiable arrests and harsh sentences?

Fear.
They fear you.
So they must try to make you fear them even more.
They must have absolute submission.
One single independent thought might lead to an independent action.
One single independent action can lead to a revolution.
And that might lead to what they fear most of all: your freedom.

Only Fools and Liars Blame Muslims

1. There is no respectable evidence that "Muslim Terrorists" were involved in the 911 disaster. None. There are only accusations.

2. The koran, like the bible, can be misinterpreted. Odds are, there are a few Muslim loonies around, because there certainly are some Christian loonies and some Jewish loonies. But most Muslims, like most Christians and most Jews are not rabid "fundamentalists (whatever the hell THAT really means) who want to either convert or kill everyone else on earth.

3. In my personal experience, I've known some rotten sob's who claimed to be Christians. And some rotten sob's who were Jews. So far I haven't known very many Muslims -- a dozen or so -- but I haven't had a beef with any of them. I suppose if I get to know more Muslims, I'll I find a few rotten sob's among them, too.

4. ALL religions are either equally valid or equally invalid, because they all try to give answers to questions that nobody really knows the answers to.

So:
Anyone, no matter what sex, race, religion or etc who loves freedom and justice and is willing to stand up for liberty --- not just for themselves, but for EVERYONE -- is ok in my book.

And especially if they also love horses.

THE DAY THEY MURDERED LIBERTY

The US government's account of 9/11 is the foundation of the open-ended wars that are exhausting America's resources and destroying its reputation, and it is the foundation of the domestic police state that ultimately will shut down all opposition to the wars.

Americans are bound to the story of the 9/11 Muslim terrorist attack, because it is what justifies the slaughter of civilian populations in several Muslim countries, and it justifies a domestic police state as the only means of securing safety from terrorists, who already have morphed into "domestic extremists" such as environmentalists, animal rights groups, and antiwar activists.

Today Americans are unsafe, not because of terrorists and domestic extremists, but because they have lost their civil liberties and have no protection from unaccountable government power. One would think that how this came about would be worthy of public debate and congressional hearings.

Under New Management

Just the other day, Autumn showed up.
She slipped in quietly, early in the morning, sipped steaming hot coffee as she watched Summer shuffling papers from one pile to another and back again.
She shook her head slowly.
Checked her watch.
Set her red and gold ceramic mug down on the corner of the desk, clanking it down loudly enough for Summer to notice and look up.

"Did you think you had forever to get that stuff done? Autumn asked. It wasn't really a question.
"Well....I...Um...see I....Uh......"
"I understand. Consider this your notice. Start clearing out your desk."
"But......"

Autumn stepped out, leaving her coffee mug behind the way adventurers used to plant their flag to claim new territory.
It was still, technically, Summer's office.
But it effectively belonged to Autumn now.

Summer could hear the echo of new boss's high-heels clacking down the corridor outside.

U.S. Troops: Use 'em Once and Throw 'em Away

Support the troops.
Yeah.
Right.
Translate as "Cheer-lead for the War, no matter what."

Not bad enough we have an economic draft and send our people off in an illegal venture based on proven lies to murder innocent people in countries that have never attacked us, all so a few fat cats can get even fatter.
That would be enough reason to hang the bastards from the nearest lamp post for criminally negligent (depraved indifference) homicide.
But sending our people in with faulty body armor -- while not really a surprise -- seems like a whole new level of disgusting.

From beginning to end this Circus of Death and Destruction has been craven and corrupt.

If we let them get away with this, we are most certainly lost.

Case Not Closed

Think of the people who died on 911 including 343 firefighters responding to the emergency.
Think of all the American soldiers who have been killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, all those maimed, crippled or so morally anguished that they committed suicide.
Think of all the innocent people --including many, many children -- who have been killed by us in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Now think of the sob's who orchestrated the whole thing making windfall profits from it, and snickering smugly behind their hands, certain they they are above the law and untouchable.
Bush.
Cheney.
Rumsfeld.
And all the rest.

We must indict them, try them and, evidence warranting, send them to prison for the rest of their lives and seize all their ill-gotten assets.
It's a moral imperative.

We will never be free -- we can never be free -- until we do.

Of Horses and Horsemen

A friend once said to me, "Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a mechanic."

Likewise, owning a horse doesn't make you a horseman any more than owning a book means that you can read. In fact, it looks like a lot of people own horses the same way that an illiterate man owns his books -- yes, they belong to him, all right, but he hasn't the faintest idea of what's inside them.

Too many people people "love" horses, not for what the horse is, but for what the horse can do for them. For them, the horse has only instrumental value, no inherent value. So when they get done using a horse for whatever it was they wanted for themselves, they cut it loose, sell it, neglect it, abandon it, put it down, send it to slaughter. Use it up and throw it away. No compassion, no remorse.

Of course, there are some people who treat other people that way, too.

They're called "psychopaths."

If you can knock over ONE domino...

If the civil suit succeeds, wouldn't you call that "probable cause" to indict on criminal charges?
Rumsfeld and the rest of the bloody Bush gang --- now including Obama as accessory after the fact -- should ALL pay huge civil damages AND go to jail for life.

Tough Guys

I love this scene from Robert di Niro's "A Bronx Tale."
First, it kind of makes me homesick, although I'm from Chicago and not the Bronx. The Italian neighborhood I grew up near was a VERY safe, low-crime area. Know why? If something happened, they didn't call the cops. They called somebody else. And then, God help you.

Second, it's my experience that if you scratch a bully, you find a coward just under the surface.
Gangs, like this biker gang, depend on strength in numbers -- and sometimes superior fire power. They wouldn't hesitate to go 8 against 1 or 2 or 3, or to use weapons against an unarmed person. It's easy to be a tough guy when the odds are all in your favor.

Now suddenly. it's a reversal of fortunes.
It doesn't get much better than that.

But one more thing.
At the end it's a bunch of KIDS who chase one biker down the street and stomp him.
There's something about that.

It harkens to me images of hundreds of (unarmed) Jews being loaded into trains, guarded by just a handful of (armed) German soldiers. What if ALL those people had said, "To hell with it," and jumped those guards?

Or when a half dozen cops are beating down some poor guy, or tasing someone, while dozens of people watch, what if all those people jumped those cops, disarmed them, cuffed them...

I wonder.

Be part of the solution.
Stand up, fight back.

Remember...

Despite everything, there is still beauty, grace and strength in the world.
There is still unbreakable spirit.
They haven't destroyed that completely.
Not yet.
Time to stop them is before they do.
