Obama wants horses to go to slaughter because he's afraid they might remind you of what it's like to be free, and all such symbols must be eradicated.

Good Medicine

My horse has a hoof like striped agate.
His fetlock is like a fine eagle plume.
His legs are like quick lightening.
My horse's body is like an eagle-plumed arrow.
My horse has a tail like a trailing black cloud.
His mane is made of short rainbows.
My horse's ears are made of round corn.
My horse's head is made of mixed waters
from the holy springs -- he never know thirst.
My horse's teeth are made of white shell.
The long rainbow is in his mouth for a bridle
And with it I guide him.

Homesick Home

The place where I grew up
makes film noir look like  Frank Capra.
The entire world is corrupt and smarmy.
The bad guys are vicious, and the good guys are worse.
Everybody is working an angle.
A smile is a predator showing teeth.
A pat on the back is just a search to find a soft place to put the knife.
Every man for himself.
You're on your own.
Trust no one.
Anger, resentment, lust  in a pressure cooker
Ready to explode.
Beating back the existential angst
I score, therefore I am.
Gun at my back
Straight razor in my boot
Woman with a past on the arm
Of a man with no future
In a blued-steel, black leather,  Chet Baker world
Take what you can; it's all you'll ever get
And if you go down
Sober, with a hard-on, and  money in your pocket,
You're a three-time loser.

Man, sometimes I miss it.

Drugs that Don't Work for Disorders that Don't Exist

As chairman of the task force that created the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV), which came out in 1994, I learned from painful experience how small changes in the definition of mental disorders can create huge, unintended consequences.
Our panel tried hard to be conservative and careful but inadvertently contributed to three false "epidemics" -- attention deficit disorder, autism and childhood bipolar disorder. Clearly, our net was cast too wide and captured many "patients" who might have been far better off never entering the mental health system.

YOU'RE the "ZOMBIE," Dummy!

"Zombie Apocalypse" is US military code-speak for an enraged population of starving citizens rising in protest against oppressive government.
The phrase "Zombie Apocalypse" is used to (unsuccessfully) conceal from the public what the military are really training to do, and of course, to dehumanize the targets to make it easier for the soldiers to kill them in mass numbers. This is why Germans became "krauts", the Vietnamese were "Charlie", and the Muslims "Hadjis."
What the government and military are really talking about when they say they are preparing for the "Zombie Apocalypse" is that they are preparing to murder 1/4 of the population to keep the other 3/4 obedient.

Seem Familiar?

“For the last four years, Barack Obama has not only asserted, but aggressively exercised, the power to target for execution anyone he wants, including US citizens, anywhere in the world. He has vigorously resisted not only legal limits on this assassination power, but even efforts to bring some minimal transparency to the execution orders he issues.

This claimed power has resulted in four straight years of air bombings in multiple Muslim countries in which no war has been declared – using drones, cruise missiles and cluster bombs – ending the lives of more than 2,500 people, almost always far away from any actual battlefield. They are typically targeted while riding in cars, at work, at home, and while even rescuing or attending funerals for others whom Obama has targeted. A substantial portion of those whom he has killed – at the very least – have been civilians, including dozens of children.”

YES, I CAN!

I can have you locked up forever,
no charges, no trial.
Yes, I can!
Or I can just have you killed.
Yes, I can!
Who's going to stop me?

Liberals, by voting for Barack Obama, betrayed the core values they use to define themselves -- the rule of law, the safeguarding of civil liberties, the protection of unions, the preservation of social welfare programs, environmental accords, financial regulation, a defiance of unjust war and torture, and the abolition of drone wars.

The liberal class clung desperately during the long nightmare of this political campaign to one or two issues, such as protecting a woman's right to choose and gender equality, to justify its complicity in a monstrous evil.

This moral fragmentation -- using an isolated act of justice to define one's self while ignoring the vast corporate assault on the nation and the ecosystem along with the pre-emptive violence of the imperial state -- is moral and political capitulation.

It fails to confront the evil we have become.

The Horse Nation

We need another and a wiser
and perhaps a more mystical concept of animals…

We patronize them for their incompleteness,
for their tragic fate of having taken form so far below ourselves.

And therein we err and err greatly.
For the animal shall not be measured by man.

In a world older and more complete than ours,
they move finished and complete,
gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained,
living by voices we shall never hear.

 They are not brethren; they are not underlings;
they are other nations,
caught with ourselves in the net of life and time,
fellow prisoners of the splendor and travail of the earth.

Our New National Anthem

Le plus que change....

Dig this from Phil Ochs.

sj

So you can sing along:

I cried when they shot Medgar Evers
Tears ran down my spine
I cried when they shot Mr. Kennedy
As though I'd lost a father of mine
But Malcolm X got what was coming
He got what he asked for this time
So love me, love me, love me, I'm a liberal

I go to civil rights rallies
And I put down the old D.A.R.
I love Harry and Sidney and Sammy
I hope every colored boy becomes a star
But don't talk about revolution
That's going a little bit too far
So love me, love me, love me, I'm a liberal

I cheered when Humphrey was chosen
My faith in the system restored
I'm glad the commies were thrown out
of the A.F.L. C.I.O. board
I love Puerto Ricans and Negros
as long as they don't move next door
So love me, love me, love me, I'm a liberal

The people of old Mississippi
Should all hang their heads in shame
I can't understand how their minds work
What's the matter don't they watch Les Crain?
But if you ask me to bus my children
I hope the cops take down your name
So love me, love me, love me, I'm a liberal

I read New republic and Nation
I've learned to take every view
You know, I've memorized Lerner and Golden
I feel like I'm almost a Jew
But when it comes to times like Korea
There's no one more red, white and blue
So love me, love me, love me, I'm a liberal

I vote for the democratic party
They want the U.N. to be strong
I go to all the Pete Seeger concerts
He sure gets me singing those songs
I'll send all the money you ask for
But don't ask me to come on along
So love me, love me, love me, I'm a liberal

Once I was young and impulsive
I wore every conceivable pin
Even went to the socialist meetings
Learned all the old union hymns
But I've grown older and wiser
And that's why I'm turning you in
So love me, love me, love me, I'm a liberal

It's about personalities, not issues -- because Obama and Romney AGREE on just about everything: More wars, less liberty.
More taxes and fewer benefits for you.
Fewer taxes and more benefits for them.
They'll keep tapping you phone, your email...
They'll keep humiliating you with unconstitutional searches at the airports -- and soon, bus depots, train stations, taxi stands, shopping malls....
Don't like it?
Too fucking bad.

Step out of line, talk out of turn, and the President will have you disappeared or murdered.

I Think I've Decided

Decisions, decisions....conflicting thoughts dance like GMO sugarplums in my head...

1. Maybe I won't vote at all. It's a completely corrupt system, top to bottom, and my participation only serves to validate it. Chivalry demands that I not be a party to any untruth...

2. Neither Obama nor Romney are worth the powder to blow them to hell, and anyone who actually votes FOR either of these smarmy bastards should get psychiatric help...

3. Ron Paul might have had a chance to upset the apple cart --- IF the vote-counting wasn't rigged...

4. Gary Johnson, Jill Stein and Rocky Anderson are ALL better candidates than Obamney -- but none of them has a snowballs chance in hell of winning...

EUREKA!!!

Back in 2000, Mel Carnahan, Missouri senatorial candidate died a very short time before the election, so his name remained on the ballot. He was elected posthumously over the incumbent John Ashcroft, which tells you that folks in Missouri have some very sound judgement.

George McGovern, one of the most stand-up guys to ever come down the political pike, ran for Prez in 1972 against Richard Nixon ( I trust I don't have to sing to you of Nixon's vices). Mr. McGovern  died just the other day.

So I'm going to write in George McGovern for President.

He should have been Prez back in '72, but the collective voting "we" just blew it. Voting for him now  might just be the perfect way to say "Go fuck yourself" to the Tweedle-dee & Tweedle-dum corporate pimps running on behalf of the Big Party (or "Parties" if you still believe there are two).

Help if you Can.

PLEASE JOIN “TEAM SIRI”:  A FUNDRAISER

Rainbow Meadows recently received a call from a local undersheriff that a young horse had been abandoned, wandering alone and lost for a week.   Siri’s story is the sad reality of abandonment, neglect and illness.

Please join "Team Siri" by giving your love and funds to a young filly that has suffered greatly from man's injustices.  Quiet and gentle in attitude, this young Thoroughbred or Appendix Quarter Horse is in urgent need of surgery to remove an extremely large hernia.  Our vet has sent Siri's medical information to a surgeon at an equine specialty clinic.  We have received his response and a pre-surgical examination and surgery will be scheduled for the near future. The large hernia can be seen protruding from Siri's abdomen.

A hernia results from the protrusion of an organ and/or tissue through an abnormal opening.” In Siri’s case, it is likely composed of skin, subcutaneous tissue and intestines.  It is also hugely apparent on her abdomen, painful and has been present her entire life.  At this point, the surgery is serious but Siri can’t continue without it.

Please help Siri with your prayers, love and donations (no amount is too small and all will add up to change Siri’s life which up to her rescue has been a life pain and loss.) Our fundraising goal is $2500 and all donations will go directly to Siri’s surgery and/or continued medical and wellness care.   As a love offering to you, Rainbow Meadows will send donors of $50 - $99 a beautifully hand-crafted horse note card (suitable for a Valentine’s message to a loved one.)  Donations of $100 or more will receive a lovely glass heart.  Following her surgery, a drawing will be held for “Siri’s Victory Heart”—an artisan crafted heart shaped pendent made of horseshoe nails (with a leather cord).  All donors will be eligible to win this unique pendant in tribute to a horse whose name means “beautiful victory”.  PLEASE INDICATE YOUR DONATION IS “FOR SIRI.”   Donations can be made through PayPal or by sending a check to Rainbow Meadows.

The pictures below are representative of the cards and glass heart pendants (the cards vary slightly and the hearts are of various colors and designs.)  A picture of “Siri’s Victory Heart” is also attached.

We thank all of you for your hearts of pure love.  Team Siri, we will keep you updated on her journey.

To donate, go to: http://www.rainbowmeadowsranch.com/Rescue_HowToDonate.htm

Please specify your donation is for Siri.

If the dream of "liberty and justice for all" has to go down

We owe that much, if not to ourselves,

Who Killed Bobby?

The "official story" says it was Sirhan Sirhan, acting alone.
Yeah.
Another "lone nut."
Funny how these "lone nuts" never murder anybody who supports the power elite/status quo, only those who speak out against it.
Funny, too, that Coroner Thomas Naguchi determined that RFK had been shot three times, all from the rear at a steep upward angle, with powder burns indicating that the fatal shot was fired from one or two inches away.
Yet, all the witness say that Sirhan Sirhan approached Kennedy from the front and never got within three feet of him.

How come the "official story" -- such as with JFK's murder, Dr. King's murder, Robert Kennedy's murder, and the 911 "attacks" -- never seems to fit the evidence?

During the war in Vietnam, territory not under the control of US forces was referred to as "Indian Country."
That should tell you something about the history of the war in Vietnam, and about the history of the United States, too.
And it ain't pretty.

Now the whole country is one big plantation/Indian Reservation, and everyone who lives in it subject to arbitrary violence from an occupying army -- the militarized "police" quit being "police" when they started sporting automatic weapons and forgot all about that oath to protect and defend the Constitution.

The Last American President

Just finished watching the 10 1/2 hour, 6-part documentary EVIDENCE OF REVISION, which you can find at:
http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/evidence-of-revision/

It's painful.
Going over it all again, connecting the dots -- a few of which I hadn't connected before.
Remembering JFK, and Bobby and Martin.
Remembering them alive, remembering hearing them speak
Remembering how their words choked me up
Expressing so perfectly
My own dreams and visions.
My young heart's hopes for something better.
And I imagine, in fitful dreams, what might have been
had they lived.
The world that might have been.
The America that might have been.
Lost.

Our plight now
Is the the logical conclusion
Of what a group of greedy psychopaths began
Back in 1963.
Iraq, Afghanistan and a dozen other dirty, secret little wars.
The Patriot Act. The NDAA and all the rest.
It's the third act of a tragic play.
Hamlet on a global scale.
The footlights are low
And backstage, they're getting ready to bring the final curtain
Down on America.

Every President since then has been an accessory after the fact
In Jack's Murder.
And Bobby's.
And Martin's.
And many, many, many more.
So many dark and bloody deeds, the killers are awash in innocent blood.
Jack was the Last American President.
He was my President.
And he still is.
